Hi! I’m Will!

I’m a technical artist, game designer, tinkerer and sometimes teacher from Melbourne, Australia.

I’ve been making games for around 9 years now, often working with researchers to develop weird games to help solve weird questions. I really enjoy tackling new design problems and figuring out the best methods to solve them. I believe that game design is all about empathy and communication, and learning to instill these qualities into our games.

My primary skills are in 3D art, workflow development and game design. I’ve also spent a lot of time designing games and software with a focus on making them as accessible as possible to all people. I’d hesitate to call myself a programmer, but I’m also getting pretty comfortable coding in C#.

I also used to teach 3rd year students in the RMIT Game Design course; where I mainly focused on playtesting, critical design and empathizing with players. I don’t teach much these days, but I do still occasionally run the odd introduction to Unity through RMIT’s short course program.

If you’d like to know more, or ask me about my work, please don’t hesitate to get in touch!
